Fave York Beaches
Long Sands Beach
You can walk to Long Sands Beach via Webber Rd. When you reach Long Sands there is a partial stair access & platform next to the lifeguard stand directly across from Webber Rd.
Long sands beach runs about 2.5-3 miles total. If you go north (left onto Long Sands for about a mile there are lots of places to sit on the beach and depending on the tides, you can sometimes get a little more beach for a little longer before high tide. If you drive along Long Sands, you can also park at the meter spots.
The Bath House is a great spot to set up, with bathrooms, outdoor spray showers to rinse and the Oceanside store across the street carries beachy merch & food/ice cream.
York Harbor Beach
YHB offers parking off route 1. There is a drop off/loading area at the bottom of the hill with beach access for unloading beach gear. Check out the views near York Harbor Inn and explore walking trails and scenic spots for photography and nature walks
Short Sands Beach
Short Sands is located at the town “beach center” in Ellis Park. There are metered parking spots and a parking lot at this beach. Large sandy playground, basketball courts, a gazebo and grassy area where musicians play occasionally throughout summer.

Lobster Cove ~ walkable, right on Long Sands, indoor/outdoor deck seating overlooks the beach.
Lulus ~ ocean view restaurant & bar on Long Sands, part of the revamped Nevada Hotel.
Oceanside ~ grab n go, picnic benches (*good spot for quick beach lunch/ice cream by the bath house, sells beach toys/amenities.
Flo’s ~ locally famous hot dog spot. Know your order 😊 and don’t order just one!
Stone’s Throw ~ ocean view restaurant & bar on Long Sands. Sit inside/outside on Long Sands, great vibe.
Sun & Surf ~ fried seafood, ice cream, breakfast thru dinner. Head .3 miles down Long Sands Ave across from Anchorage, eat in or order @ the window!
